We all know picking the right vendor for your wedding can be overwhelming, you want to make sure you pick the right wedding florist and stylist that will be able to make your dreams come alive and fit your budget. Since your wedding is the most important day of your life, we want to help you get this right. Here are 5 tips on finding the right florist for you.

  1. Are you looking for a retail florist or a wedding floral designer?

Isn’t that the same thing? Well, not all florists are the same, for example a retail florist will create wedding flowers as well as juggling many other flower orders and demands of a shop during your wedding. A wedding floral designer or wedding florist, specialize in creating flower arrangements and installations specifically for weddings. A floral designer puts a lot of effort into the design of the flowers, takes the time to create proposals and vision boards to curate a wedding design specifically for the couple. A wedding florist view flowers as a form of art, not to say retail florist doesn’t but a floral designer will generally take on less work so that they can concentrate their attention and creativity to your wedding. As a floral designer, when we create floral pieces, we are also envisioning the space that the flowers will be in. So designers will also add wedding styling to their services, so that they can ensure your wedding flowers and decor are cohesive. Determine what your needs are for your wedding and choose the type of florist that’s right for you.

  2. Does Your Wedding Style Fit?

Does your wedding style fit their portfolio? One way to ensure that the wedding florist you’ve chosen can actually execute your wedding design depends on what they have done. Are you looking for an understated eclectic wedding design, but the florist’s portfolio shows an luxury over-the-top floral arrangements? Maybe you should reconsider. Every creative has their strengths and their website and social media will show you what they are. If it doesn’t match with what you’re looking for, it may be best to find someone else!

  3. Talk with Them

Once you see their great portfolio, talk with them! Talk about what you want for your wedding and see if they are able to create a wedding design that fits the both of you. Look over the design proposal they create for you, and don’t be shy to ask questions! Ask them questions about their design process, how they will execute the design proposal, pricing, and their experience. Make sure you feel comfortable investing in their services and it doesn’t hurt to like them too, you’ll be working together for the next 6 months to a year, it’s nice to be able to laugh together!

  4. Book them Early!

There is nothing more disappointing than finding the wedding florist you want to work with and they’re booked! If your flowers and decor are really important to you, start looking for a wedding florist 6-12 months in advance.

  5. Read their Reviews

Do your research! The best ones come from friends and family who have worked with that wedding florist before. But if you’re looking at someone you haven’t worked with, have a look at their testimonials on their website and other review sites. Take notice of what past clients appreciated from the wedding designer and what strengths were highlighted. Were they professional and easy to work with? Did they get everything they expected or better yet, received more? Was the wedding florist responsive to emails and flexible? Did the wedding florist divert a crisis and how? All these small details are a great testimony to the service you’ll receive on your wedding day.
